Its No Mystery

Knowing the nature of the wild horse is foundational to so many aspects of horse ownership – care, feeding, training, and just plain communicating with the horse. That’s why today, for one of my first picks, I am spotlighting Mystic Horse, the creation of Mary Ann Simonds and friends. My connection with the group is that Mary Ann was the first person in almost 6 years – after having several veterinarians over the years look at Sage – to point out that my horse, from all indications, was a horse with ulcers and had probably had them since before I got her. Healing the ulcers had to happen before Sage could ever become truly and vibrantly healthy, and it was Mary Ann who set us on that path.

Here is a good description direct from their website of what Mystic Horse is about and what they offer:

“As a group of horsewomen, we envisioned products that would be fun, functional, enlightening, healing and above all, socially and environmentally responsible. Our main focus is enhancing the relationships and health of animals and their people, and strengthening the human animal bond. A behavioral ecologist and holistic health educator, Mary Ann has been “charming” horses for over 30 years. In the horse community, she is recognized as having the ability to gracefully entwine alternative methods with scientific credibility, moving beyond the horse-training paradigm. She has conducted hundreds of case studies using vibrational essences, aromatherapy, natural nutrition and magnetic-field therapy. Through these studies, field research and the application of Wild Horse ecology (the understanding of habitat, diet and social interactions), our products bring the cultural integrity of the Wild Horse to today’s domestic horse.”

New news for Mary Ann is that she recently joined the faculty of the Equine Natural Movement Series located in Battleground, WA. She will be teaching advanced series work, Horse Psychology and Wisdom.

Tomorrow I will focus on one of Mary Ann’s products that has wide ranging applications, from horse to human, called Balance. And can’t we all use a little more of that?!
