Yesterday I had the opportunity to give Sage her new Safe Horse Halter, and I must say that she does look pretty in purple. More importantly, this new halter is super lightweight, easy to put on and take off with its clip feature, and probably bothers her a whole lot less than her old heavy-weight standard nylon halter. I am moving away from using a rope halter, too, based on a recommendation from Dr. Suzan Seeyle; she feels that the knots on the halters are too harsh for a horse’s sensitive face.

This particular halter that Sage is wearing has a metal clip which gives it a higher breaking strength; I also have another model of these halters with a plastic clip for true breakaway safety.

Here I have tied up Sage using the Blocker Tie Ring that I have previously written about and recommended. Now I can actually walk away from her if needed and not worry about her getting into panic mode and injuring herself. Thank you Blocker and Safe Horse Halters!
